About Infant Jesus Shrine
In the mid sixties, the Sacred Heart Parish had far flung areas like Sonnanahalli (now Vivekanagar), Vannarpet, Neelasandra, Austin Town Layout, Anapalya and Egipura which proved unwieldy for pastoral care. Rev. Fr. Paul Kinatukara, the then Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church, felt the urgent need for bifurcation.
On suggestion, he prayed to Infant Jesus of Prague for help in his quest for land. Most miraculously in 1969, in answer to his prayer, a plot measuring 4.5 acres of agricultural land in Sonnanahalli was bought. Most Rev. Dr. D. S. Lourduswamy the then Archbishop of Bangalore, laid the foundation for a new church on 18th April, 1969.
